Laura Murphree joined Summit Bank in March 2014, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in relationship banking for Bay County families and their businesses.
Murphree served on the Junior Achievement board of directors for 6 years and continues to serve as clerk for their Adopt-A-Precinct fund raising committee. Her involvement with United Way of Northwest FL began in 2007 as a Loaned Executive and culminated as the organization's campaign chair in 2011 and Chairman of the Board in 2012.
Murphree is a 2009 graduate of the Florida School of Banking, and received the Scholar Award from Gulf Coast Community College in 2003. During the years of 1979-1980, she attended Samford University in Birmingham, AL, majoring in English, Secondary Education and minoring in Music. The highlight of her time there was singing in the A Capella Choir under the direction of Dr. Eugene Black.
Laura made Panama City Beach her home in 1980. She has two sons, Jonson and Ben Bullard. She enjoys jet skiing and camping with her husband, James, and her Border Collie, Ally.
