Your personal safety is extremely important to us at Summit Bank. Please use the following personal safety guidelines to protect yourself when using an ATM or night depository:
When creating passwords and PINs (Personal Identification Numbers), avoid using information that is easily guessed by criminals such as your middle name, your spouse’s or child’s name, your maiden name, your birthdate, your Social Security Number, your street address or P.O. Box number, consecutive numbers, etc.
On many sites, you may also be able to strengthen your security by choosing a User Name that is unique and difficult to guess – rather than using your common name or email address that is easily identifiable.
Don’t share your passwords or PINs with anyone – not even family or friends.
Don’t keep written notes containing your passwords or PINs in your purse / wallet or in your home, office, or vehicle.
Choose strong passwords that are at least eight characters long and contain a combination of numbers, symbols, upper and lower case letters.
Don’t repeatedly use or “recycle” the same password/PIN or set of passwords/PINs on a site after a password expires – especially on sites that contain your personal or financial records.
Don’t use the same password/PIN across multiple sites - especially on sites that contain your personal or financial records.
To lessen the impact on you if one of your passwords is ever breached, it is best to vary your passwords from site to site.
Please do not send any sensitive, confidential, or non-public information via this email address as it is non-secure.
